Poster Concept

This poster is inspired by my daily commute from home to campus, which takes me through Spaghetti Junction—one of Atlanta’s most recognizable highway interchanges. The name itself became the starting point for the project. Spaghetti Junction is known for its tangled, overlapping roads, functioning almost like a physical diagram of constant motion and congestion.

The title Al Dente plays on that reference. In cooking, al dente describes pasta that is firm and resistant, not soft or easy. That idea mirrors Atlanta’s traffic experience: dense, structured, and unyielding. By connecting the culinary term to the city’s infrastructure, the poster reframes Spaghetti Junction as both a literal and conceptual “spaghetti” system. The composition emphasizes layered pathways and visual density to reflect the tension, repetition, and rhythm of navigating Atlanta’s roads—an experience familiar to anyone who moves through the city daily.
